How to get rid of black mold
Most people automatically assume this is a big expensive job, however it is not and with our tips below your home should be mold free in no time.
You will need the gollowing items
- Rubber Gloves
- 5 gallon bucket
- quarter cup of laundry detergent
- bleach
- sponge
Fill your bucket to the 3/4 mark with warm water and add in 2 cups of bleach and a 1/4 cup of laundry detergent. For safety make sure the area you are working in is well ventilated.
Now give all the moldy and surrounding areas a good scrub with the mixture and leave it to dry completely. If you are looking to paint the area make sure you use a mold inhibitor beforehand.
If the procedure is done thoroughly and effectively your black mold should never reappear.
Every house can and most likely will develop black mold if you do not keep on top of all your appliances and water fittings. The fridge/freezer is the biggest culprit and should be checked regular to make sure there are no drips. Another area that Black mold likes to attack is under your sinks, so keep an eye out for any drips under them.
The above mixture can also be used for green mold and mildew in and outside of the house.
